Compliance Assistant - Part-Time

Description: Environmental Compliance Services, Inc., (ECS) is an aggressive market leader of business and environmental solutions. This dynamic firm comprises approximately 200 professionals with offices throughout New England, Ohio, North Carolina and Florida.

We have an immediate opening for a part-time environmental/facility Compliance Assistant in Akron, OH. Occasional travel to the Strongsville and/or Columbus, OH offices may be required.

Environmental/facility compliance experience is preferred but not required. An Associate�s Degree in Environmental Science or other related discipline is a plus. Familiarity with the petroleum, chemical, transportation and banking industries is desirable.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparation and submittal of stormwater permit applications and pollution prevention plans; registering underground and aboveground storage tanks; scheduling tank tests; preparation of underground storage tank financial responsibility documents; preparation of Community Right-To-Know (SARA) documents; composing cover letters, memos, and other business forms for clients, regulators and public record. These duties require working with clients, field personnel, consultants, contractors and federal/state authorities.

Some administrative aspects of the job include preparing proposals, handling mail, processing invoices, scanning, faxing, filing and data entry. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, have strong written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Access and Excel. PowerPoint is a plus. Additionally the individual must be professional, organized and have the ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet varying deadlines.

The work will be conducted in an office environment but occasionally may involve trips to client�s offices or field locations. Individual must be able to pass the company�s pre-employment requirements, including the Driver Safety Policy criteria, physical/drug screen and criminal and driving history record checks. Must have a valid driver�s license in good standing. Hourly rate is commensurate with experience.
